PSV Eindhoven striker Jurgen Locadia has highlighted his ambition to play for Manchester United at some stage of his career.
The 23-year-old missed a vast part of last season through injury, but he nevertheless managed to bag three goals and three assists in 14 outings. Speaking to Dutch broadcaster NOS, the marksman revealed his dream of making the big time with United, but admits that he may have to take an intermediate route with a mid-table English club.
Georginio Wijnaldum has been one of the top Dutchmen, who has made a mark in the Premier League, and Locadia is willing to go through a similar route in order to realise his dream. The Holland international joined Newcastle United back in the summer of 2015, and his standout performances at Tyneside earned him a switch to Liverpool 12 months later.
Locadia told NOS: “Manchester United is my dream, but via an intermediate step. I like the path Georginio Wijnaldum has walked, from Newcastle United to Liverpool.”Manchester United also have a history with the Eredivisie outfit with Memphis Depay having joined the Old Trafford outfit in 2015. However, the winger failed miserably during his time in Manchester, and was eventually offloaded to French club Lyon during the January transfer window.
Apart from his footballing ambition, Locadia has also the dream to DJ in front of 30,000 fans, but he has not found the time to do so due to an injury setback, he said: “If it is well received, I do want to continue it. Deep in my heart I dream to run a festival with 30,000 people. PSV have asked me to create a special club song, but I have not had time yet.”Manchester United have started their summer spending with the £35m of Victor Lindelof, and there could be more recruits to come as they prepare themselves for the Champions League.
