The 21 year old defender Luke Shaw is certain that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will re-discover his form and start scoring goals on a consistent basis as he used to do at the beginning of the season when he was able to score goals against Bournemouth, Southampton and Manchester City but the Swedish attacker has recently struggled to find the back of the net.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic was not able to score a single Premier League goal for almost 2 months as he went from scoring on September 18 until November 3rd without a league goal for Manchester United.
Ibrahimovic is expected to be the main goal-scoring outlet for Manchester United and not being able to score for almost 2 months is a huge period of time. He did manage to end his goal- drought during Manchester United’s recent Premier League match against Swansea City as the Swedish giant was able to score twice but he will need to score a lot more goals in order for Manchester United to start climbing into the higher section of the Premier League tables but Luke Shaw is confident that Ibrahimovic can do it as the 21 year old defender said:
“He’s a world-class player and I wouldn’t say it’s a dip, I think he’s been unlucky. He’s had chances, but the saves that have been happening from his shots are unbelievable, especially that volley he did at the weekend, with Heats Tom Heaton saving that. Of course he’s a very confident person and his confidence is always sky-high.”
Despite this goal-drought that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been going through, this has not affected the confidence that Jose Mourinho has on the 35 year old player as the Swedish attacker has started in all of the 11 opening matches of the season.
