Ace striker Wayne Rooney has finally signed his new extended contract with Manchester United, hiking his net worth up to a whooping £300k a week. The new contact has been extended for a period of four years hence making it a five and half year deal with Manchester United. Rooney confirmed in his official website that he is really happy that everything has been worked out smoothly and he can now completely concentrate on his football career.
It was back in 2004 when the striker had shifted from Everton and is just forty two goals behind the record score of two hundred and forty nine goals held by Sir Charlton. Rooney said breaking Sir Charlton’s record is absolutely something he wishes to achieve before retirement and something he will be completely proud of. Pretty much like always his aim has been to regularly keep his goal score high and finally break this much talked about record. Turning 33, post the new contact, Rooney holds a lavish record of two hundred and eight goals in a total of four hundred and thirty matches. He will take up the position of the club’s ambassador post his retirement.
David Moyes, the club’s boss commented on the official website saying that Rooney has an excellent chance to be a shining legend as a part of the glorious history of the club. Just 42 goals far from the record of Sir Bobby, Rooney will be the first ever player to score 250 magnificent goals for the red devils. These instances come only to gifted players and Moyes has complete confidence in Rooney’s chances. The striker’s previous contact was to expire in 2015, as he was all set to depart from Old Trafford post Sir Alex Ferguson, the former manager had claimed that he wanted a transfer. However Rooney completely denied any such claims.
