Best Time for United.
Rooney today is too little.

if only black people could work together like this more often without being
ball greedy.

beeblefoxx · December 31, 2014 at 10:31 pm

Generous and selfless. Helped each other out for the good of the team and
confused the defenders doing it. Nowadays the opponents know that if Rooney
has the ball Rooney will be the one attempting to shoot. Selfishness
brought to you for only £250,000 a week.

At the time people and media were so heavily critical of andy cole. In
hindsight he actually did a very good job

Same mother different father, has got to be…Its almost like they were
coded to play together. And to Dave Hester, pls kill yrself.

Amazing partnership, as an Arsenal fan I maybe shouldn’t like this,
especially as I really didn’t like United when they were good. But even at
the time I was blown away by some of their play. That Cantona Fella wasn’t
to bad either… Good football is good football no matter what tribe you’re
with .

The greatest strike partnership of the modern game. Screw Sturridge and
Suarez, these guys were born to play together.

firdausgoalie · January 1, 2015 at 3:28 am

My family loved watching them on telly back in ’99.

they were the most feared strikers in europe

Nazri Buang · January 1, 2015 at 5:52 am

I heard that Dwight Yorke’s favourite food was steak medium rare, scrambled
eggs and black coffee as seen in the film Looper.

Im not even a fan of Manchester united but this will probably always be my
favorite strike partnership ever. They made football easy. There have been
some players where it seemed like they were able to know what their
opponents or their team members would do, but there have never been a pair
of strikers who seemed to almost share conscientiousness like Cole and
Yorke did.. Many players throughout the history of this great game could
learn a bit from these two about playing it straight back to the teammate
who just gave you the ball. We see a lot of one-twos today but Cole/Yorke
perfected the one-two-threes and sometimes more..And they often did it
“earlier” than normally. Look at the goal against Barcelona(Which is
technically a one-two but the dummy kinda counts as a pass), where you
would normally see player in Yorkes position run with the ball instead of
doing the dummy because they usually reserve the dummy’s for when they are
positioned slightly closer to the goal and the player in Cole’s position
would almost always at least take a few touches but the unselfish play
makes the defender look like a confused chicken.

00:11 to 00:17, now I know who taught Barcelona the Tiki Taka style

Steve Porter · January 1, 2015 at 9:15 am

Forgot how good these two were. Not a Man Utd fan but these two were
different class

A few on here are suggesting Suarez and Sturridge are a better combination.
I would personally reserve judgement until they’ve shown they can do it in
the Champions League, which Cole and Yorke most empatically did. I would
also argue that the PL overall was stronger when Cole and Yorke were
playing, though accept that’s open to debate.

What a crap song.
